Why Bamboo Toothbrushes
Why? Simple. There are over 7 billion people in the world, most of which brush their teeth with a typical plastic toothbrush. What is overlooked, however, is that most of these people go through several toothbrushes a year, equaling an incredible amount of waste in our oceans and landfills. …utilize organically grown bamboo!
The moso bamboo is grown naturally, without any added chemicals or pesticides of any kind. Plus, it’s coated in a completely natural wax to keep it silky and dry!
…are sustainably grown and panda-friendly!
The bamboo used is completely sustainably harvested. As you may know, bamboo is known to grow over 4 feet a DAY in the right conditions. Pretty awesome. Also, panda’s don’t eat Moso bamboo, so we’re not taking away from the pandas’ food sources.
…have biodegradable handles!
Our toothbrush handles are completely biodegradable, so they won’t last forever in a landfill like every other brush! You can literally recycle the bristles, then throw the handle into your compost pile, where it will decompose naturally!
…are antimicrobial!
Bamboo is actually naturally antimicrobial. (The same reason cutting boards are made from bamboo!) This means that theoretically, you won’t have to worry about bacteria growing in your handle!

How We're Eco-Friendly
Let’s face it. The term “eco-friendly” gets thrown around like crazy. But what does that really mean? To us, it means our product accomplishes the same goals as the current products on the market, while being generally better for the environment. We take steps that result in less waste, less chemicals, less processing, and fewer emissions without sacrificing functionality of the end product. We know that’s loose, but if every company did this, it would be incredible.
We’re not patting ourselves on the back, either. Don’t take this page the wrong way. We don’t think we’re special, or deserve special recognition. To us, its just the right way to produce products. We use sustainable, natural materials where we can. We prefer organic material to chemicals. Also, there’s no PERFECT solution. All we can do is try our best to look at the end result, and know that our way of doing things is a big step in the right direction!

This is the main thing that sets us apart. Instead of using the typical petroleum-based, non-recyclable plastic like most toothbrushes, we use bamboo. Beautiful, natural bamboo. Our brushes work just as well, and last just as long as the typical brush. So why not go natural?
WooBamboo toothbrushes are made with the same type of high-quality bamboo that cutting boards are made from: moso. It’s organically-grown in the bamboo-rich mountains of China, and crafted in a family-owned workshop. Moso bamboo is also naturally anti-microbial, which is awesome for a toothbrush!
Our floss is made from natural silk, and it’s encased in a cool, plant-based plastic shell. We’ve eliminated the need for a plastic case, as the packaging itself becomes your floss dispenser! Pop it open, thread it, close it, use it. Oh, stick “buy it” in there, first.

Our newest packaging option is a kraft paper zero waste box that is printed with soy-based ink and is 100% biodegradable. Now, if you happen to have our toothbrush packaged in blister packaging, here are the deets: Our blister packaging is made with recycled and (re)recyclable materials. The backing cards are made with post-consumer recycled materials and are (re)recyclable. The plastic used is PET, which is one of the most easily recycled plastics available. Unlike other plastics that can be recycled only once, PET plastic is not only thinner than other plastics but can continuously be recycled many times over. It is best to separate the kraft paper from the plastic blister (to the best of your ability)
and place both in your recycle bin.
We print all of our collateral material and packaging on the highest percentage of post-consumer waste we can on as much certified sustainable paper as possible. Also, almost everything utilizes soy-based inks (including our packaging). We don’t fax.
